T\u00f4i th\u1ea5y m\u00ecnh r\u1ea5t may m\u1eafn \u0111\u00e3 t\u00ecm \u0111\u01b0\u1ee3c c\u00f4ng vi\u1ec7c v\u00e0o l\u00fac \u0111\u00f3.\u00a0 M\u1ed9t s\u1ed1 \u0111\u00f4ng c\u00e1c b\u1ea1n gi\u00e1o ch\u1ee9c c\u1ee7a t\u00f4i \u0111\u00e3 ph\u1ea3i ch\u1ecbu c\u1ea3nh d\u1ea1y \u201ctr\u00e1m ch\u1ed7\u201d r\u1ea5t l\u00e2u m\u1edbi \u0111\u01b0\u1ee3c thu nh\u1eadn l\u00e0m gi\u00e1o vi\u00ean ch\u00ednh th\u1ee9c.<\/p>\n<p>For my undergraduate degree I attended California State Polytechnical University Pomona in Pomona, California.\u00a0 I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts.\u00a0 I majored in Liberal Studies and minored in Marketing.\u00a0 For my teaching credential I attended California State University Long Beach and earned a Multiple Subject Clear Credential with a CLAD (Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer) certificate.\u00a0 I also took the National Teaching Exam in multiple subjects and passed.<\/p>\n<p>When I started teaching, my goal was to teach elementary school.\u00a0 So my first job was in a 4\/5 grade combination class over an hour away from Garden Grove in Rancho Cucamonga.\u00a0 Like now, there were very few available teaching jobs in Orange County.\u00a0 I considered myself very lucky to have landed the job that I did.\u00a0 Many of my teaching friends had to substitute teach for awhile before securing a full time teaching job.<\/p>\n<p><em>3) T\u1eeb \u0111\u00f3 \u0111\u1ebfn nay B\u00e0 \u0111\u00e3 d\u1ea1y \u1edf nh\u1eefng \u0111\u00e2u?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Since then, how many schools have you taught?<\/p>\n<p>T\u00f4i \u0111\u00e3 d\u1ea1y \u1edf 2 tr\u01b0\u1eddng ti\u1ec3u h\u1ecdc, 1 tr\u01b0\u1eddng trung h\u1ecdc \u0111\u1ec7 nh\u1ea5t c\u1ea5p (l\u1edbp 6 \u0111\u1ebfn l\u1edbp 8) v\u00e0 hai ch\u01b0\u01a1ng tr\u00ecnh d\u00e0nh cho ng\u01b0\u1eddi l\u1edbn tu\u1ed5i. C\u00f4ng vi\u1ec7c n\u1ea7y kh\u00f3 nh\u01b0ng c\u0169ng mang l\u1ea1i th\u1eadt nhi\u1ec1u ni\u1ec1m vui. Khi sinh c\u00e1c ch\u00e1u th\u00ec t\u00f4i ngh\u1ec9 d\u1ea1y \u0111\u1ec3 d\u00e0nh th\u1eddi gi\u1edd lo cho ch\u00fang. Khi c\u00e1c ch\u00e1u b\u1eaft \u0111\u1ea7u v\u00e0o v\u01b0\u1eddn tr\u1ebb, t\u00f4i t\u00f4i tr\u1edf l\u1ea1i l\u00e0m vi\u1ec7c b\u00e1n th\u1eddi gian cho Trung T\u00e2m Gi\u00e1o D\u1ee5c Ng\u01b0\u1eddi L\u1edbn (Lincoln) v\u00e0 v\u1eabn ti\u1ebfp t\u1ee5c d\u1ea1y \u1edf \u0111\u00f3 \u0111\u1ebfn nay \u0111\u00e3 8 n\u0103m.<\/p>\n<p>This may sound funny to some, but I didn\u2019t choose teaching, it chose me.\u00a0 I actually went into the business world after college and worked for an oil and gas company and as a salesperson for the phone company.\u00a0 After a few years, I found myself bored and unsatisfied with work.\u00a0 While volunteering at my church teaching a Sunday school class, I realized my true calling in life was teaching.\u00a0 I went back to school to earn my credential and started teaching elementary school.\u00a0 It was in my second year of teaching that ESL came a calling.\u00a0 My vice principal at the time also worked for the adult education program as well.\u00a0 He asked me if I would be interested in teaching ESL at night since I had a CLAD certificate and had passed the Language Development Specialist Test.\u00a0 I needed to make more money to pay off my education debt, so I took on the challenge and started teaching beginning low at night two days a week.\u00a0 It was difficult but at the same time so much fun.\u00a0 When I had my children I quit teaching for awhile to stay home and take care of them.\u00a0 As soon as they started preschool, I went back to work part time at Lincoln Adult Education Center and I\u2019ve been here for over 8 years.<\/p>\n<p><em>5) Tr\u01b0\u1edbc khi h\u1ecdc ngh\u1ec1, b\u00e0 \u0111\u00e3 c\u00e2n nh\u1eafc nh\u1eefng g\u00ec? Tuy nhi\u00ean, gi\u1edd \u0111\u00e2y th\u00ec b\u1ed1 m\u1eb9 t\u00f4i r\u1ea5t h\u00e3nh di\u1ec7n v\u1ec1 s\u1ef1 th\u00e0nh c\u00f4ng trong ng\u00e0nh d\u1ea1y h\u1ecdc c\u1ee7a t\u00f4i, v\u00e0 th\u00edch khoe v\u1edbi b\u1ea1n b\u00e8\u00a0 r\u1eb1ng con g\u00e1i m\u00ecnh l\u00e0 c\u00f4 gi\u00e1o.<\/p>\n<p>I was born in the United States and I\u2019m a second generation American on my father\u2019s side.\u00a0 My paternal grandparents came from Italy and they had to learn English on their own.\u00a0 My maternal grandparents and their ancestors have lived here for many years.\u00a0 My grandmother use to joke that they came over on the Mayflower.<\/p>\n<p>The most difficult thing for me growing up was school.\u00a0 I think I was very distracted and hyper as a child and that made learning more difficult. \u00a0I was also a little naughty and very stubborn.\u00a0 \u00a0I recognize these traits in my own kids and I am better equipped to help them being a teacher.\u00a0 I was\/am a terrible speller too.\u00a0 Thank God for spell check and computers.\u00a0 I know you\u2019re asking yourself, \u00a0how can a teacher be a terrible speller?\u00a0 It\u2019s true, and I think admitting this to my students actually makes them feel better about their own inadequacies.\u00a0 You can succeed even if you aren\u2019t perfect.\u00a0 Perseverance is the key to success.<\/p>\n<p>My father and mother just wanted me to go to college.\u00a0 Neither of them were able to go because of their lack of money and support. \u00a0My father\u2019s parents wanted him to quit high school to get a full time job.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t and both of my parents graduated from high school.\u00a0 \u00a0I don\u2019t think my father wanted me to become a teacher because like me, he didn\u2019t think I would be able to support myself on a teacher\u2019s salary.\u00a0 He wanted me to own my own business or at least work in the business world.\u00a0 However, both of my parents are very proud of my teaching success now and love telling their friends that their daughter is a teacher.<\/p>\n<p><em>18) C\u00e1c con c\u1ee7a b\u00e0, c\u00f3 ai c\u00f3 \u00fd \u0111\u1ecbnh s\u1ebd n\u1ed1i nghi\u1ec7p m\u1eb9?
